overcompensate compensation.

I feel sorry for people sometimes. The way people overcompensate for their insecurities just makes me feel sorry for them. I don’t know why. It’s not sympathy. Nor am I being empathetic. It’s almost as if they’re not even a real person because they’re fabricating this persona to make up for an attribute or characteristic they lack or are unhappy with within themselves. And then it boils down to an overcompensation of confidence. Which then is perceived as arrogance or being an elitist asshole.
